thank you to everyone who came to this previous evening of things, i appreciate that you haul gear over our badly marked step, or that you watch the door while we play our set, or coming out because you knew we were playing... that's rad...

apart from the violence recenly here, and last minute changes to tour, things are good...the time when i return i will be happy to resume devotion to this space, but i am glad to leave knowing i will learn so much to bring back from the road...i hope to become better at doing what we do here...and travel is the only teacher now....

so i carry a big knife... i'm tired of violence....

Corral: two artists (Stane Hubert and Christie Scott) enter, and five days later,
two artists leave, possibly on stretchers, possibly totally exhausted from five
non-stop days of making-art-making-art-MAKING-ART-splash-water-on-facemaking-
ART. The idea is to eliminate distraction and pressure and just ... create,
and the rules are that Hubert and Scott can’t make anything before they
enter the airlock and they can’t leave til the time is up. You can just watch, or
you can help them (after signing up) before they hurt themselves--they shoot

how a person's work is paid is important, not just because of status or sense of self-worth, but for the simple facts of food clothing shelter culture.

culture is a new add on but it is as necessary as the other three, and far less ephemeral than it seems.

the core experience of being a human is not merely the functioning and safety of its parts, but that of a consciousness.

created symbols, the connections between self and others and their adopted or inherited symbols...these things give direction and meaning and form to our daily lives, the living of them and the objects we choose to make useful in that living.

and something innate : the tangible ownership of things has a preciously rare web of being...

there has been great noise

phil's birthday came and went...the duo night...it has been wall throbbing and sweet vegan cupcake duets, but i can't do any of it justice...so i apologize, and fail and accept that awkwardly, but still with a firm understanding of my capabilities...

it was a fun experiment, but planning tour is taking over,...paying the rent is taking over, so it has to be much more work now than writing....

someday, when i can afford a digital camera i can truly document one aspect that makes recreating a scene with words all the more easier...i miss my camera immensely....i feel so much more drawn to the visual arts lately, feeling so dangerously clumsy with words...

so just to sum up:
bavab bavab is going on tour, and it is a grand adventure that demands all my attention...i will try to continue to document things here, but mostly i am in a frenzied daze....
